Access Your Favorite Websites Using Keyboard Shortcuts

We all have our daily drill of going to the same few websites as soon as we open our computer. Some people bookmark these websites so they can easily access them from the bookmarks bar but for a person like me who always prefers keyboard over mouse, this is not the best thing.

This problem can be solved though with a great Firefox Addon called SiteLauncher. SiteLauncher allows you to assign short cuts to every one of your favorite website so you can access them quickly.

Here’s how it works.

Press the shortcut keys to launch SiteLauncher, (Ctrl+Space by default, but can be changed)

Press the shortcut key to access the website. For example, in this example pressing m would take me to Gmail.

You can also turn on the mouse support for site launcher which is not nearly as convenient as pressing a key. When you are visiting a website that you want to add to your SiteLauncher, simply pressing Ctrl+Shift+S would open the SiteLauncher menu allowing you to add the website and assign it a shortcut key.

You can add as many sites as you want to your SiteLauncher. You can sort them by title, by shortcut key or in any other manual order you want. If you want to go directly to the website without opening the SiteLauncher overlay, simply press Alt+Shift and the shortcut key of the website you want to access. In this example, to access Gmail we would do Alt+Shift+m.
