Asuka: The Simplest/Minimalist Android App For Tumblr

Blog Widget by LinkWithin

Asuka Tumblr from Arlyanagi seems to be the perfect answer to the niche for a cheap (as in free), easy to use and barebones Tumblr app. If what you need is a simple poster and browser, than look no further.

The application, if you hadn’t guessed from the product description is -very- bare bones. It doesn’t support the display dashboard, videos, or anything of the sort. Just posting and posting alone, be it from a browser, gallery, or YouTube, or via Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, delicious, or the like. It’s very easy to use, though it could use an auto save feature. Occasionally you may accidentally back out of a message or get a call and erase when you didn’t wish to, but this is a very minor drawback.

For people who are expecting a little more padding and features here or there, a bit more shine and polish, this is not the application for you. But as a free application with plenty of utility and versatility for the busy bodies looking for tumblr on the go? There aren’t many free apps that can compete with the value. With luck, Arlyanagi will keep support up for this app as time goes on, making it perhaps a bit more robust, but as it stands it’s a very good app on its own.
