aTumble: An Android App To Post To Tumblr

Blog Widget by LinkWithin

With the speed at which Tumblr has gained popularity in the blogging world, it was only a matter of time before a good smart phone app was made for it. This 99 cent app is very solid and great value for the money, though it does have a little space for improvement.

The main screen is similar to the actual Tumblr blog posting web page, with every type of posting available aside from video (one of the app’s few lacking features). You can use it to create private or public posts, add tags, and choose which of your blogs you want it to go to etc.

You can also use the app to view the posts published by your friends or other blogs you follow, though the app doesn’t have a search feature nor allows you to click into their tumblogs in order to read the posts. You can also use the app to view your own posts, though without the style or theme that you’d have on your main page (to save processing power and make it swifter and easier to load).

All in all, there are a few areas for improvement in the next version, but for just under a dollar, you’d be hard pressed to find better. It does what it says without hitches or glitches, and is definitely useful for the avid tumblogger.

You can download this nifty app from Androlib.
