Doomi: The Simplest Of To-Do List Applications
I have been searching for a good to-do list app for a few months and I have tried at least a dozen of them, everything from Remember the milk, to tada list to task coach but nothing has worked for me. I wanted somethign that is as simple as writing on a sticky note. I think i’ve finally found one.
I first read about Doomi over at ghacks and was very skeptical of it. However, once I started using it I absolutely fell in love with it.
Doomi is very easy to use. Once you install this Adobe AIR based application from here, just launch it from the start menu and you are all set to go. When you want to create a new to-do item, just enter it in the task bar and press enter. The new item would automatically be added to the list. If you are done with an item, just check the box in front of it and it would be deleted from the list. Note that Doomi would still keep track of the checked items and you can look through those by clicking at the small show old link at the bottom.
It also gives you an option of setting a reminder for each item. You can set the reminder for anywhere between 1 hour and 1 day. You can also see on the top the total number of items in your list, the number of completed items and the number of reminders you have.
Once you minimize the applicaiton, it stays in your taskbar and you can relaunch it by double clicking on it.
I think it is one of the simplest to-do applications out there that serves the purpose without the complexity of schedulars, sub-tasks, email reminders and all the other good stuff that most of us don’t even need.
