For people who regularly use Wikipedia, it is a hassle to open another window, go to Wikipedia and then enter the search query. If you are one of them, you can skip all these steps and search Wikipedia without leaving your Gmail window. This is possible by adding the Wikipedia gadget to your Gadget.
Here’s how to do it:
- Goto the Labs feature within your Gmail Settings.
- Enable Add any gadget by URL feature.
- Now navigate to the Gadgets feature within Settings.
- You will see a box labelled Add a gadget by its URL.
- Enter this URL in the box: http://www.google.com/ig/modules/wikipedia.xml
- Click Add.
That’s it. You will now see a Wikipedia gadget in your sidebar that would allow you to search Wikipedia instantly.
