If the social network is here to stay, it must constantly re-innovate itself. Well, CircleMe is a social networking app that seems to have taken this into account. No, it’s not about people you know, it’s about connecting with people who share your interests. The social network has recently released an app for the iPhone.
Based on the idea of “collecting your likes” and bringing them at one place, CircleMe asks you to “plant” a book you love, your favourite TV show or the latest song you put on your playlist. Essentially, this “planting” is like an update for others to view or add a story to.
Owing to its compelling interface and lay-out, CircleMe is not only winning the hearts of many, but has been gaining laurels as one of the most promising up-coming apps of the season, most recently landing as the winner of the App Circus in London.
And why not? Apart from letting you access millions of places, movies—in short, all that you can think of planting–you can keep track of activities and people who have planted things near you. Finding friends is easy with Facebook, while the app lets you share your plans on various sites, and even create To-Dos. You might not want to expect a great deal because the app’s just got started, yet it seems almost definitive that this one has a bright future.
