As a precautionary measure, you will always come across suggestions to save scanned copies of all your important documents such as your social security card, driver’s license, birth certificate, passport or any important receipts for transactions you conduct. However, the problem is that you may not always have a scanner at your disposal. In such situations, iPhone users, who own models 3GS and onward, can easily save a soft copy of their important papers and documents with the help of a newly launched iPhone app called Snap2PDF.
Scanning documents with Snap2PDF is quite simple and can even be done for files with multiple pages. All you need to do is to take an image of the document you want to scan. The picture can be generated by using the built-in camera/scanner of the app itself or with the help of your phone’s camera. Once the images are taken, they can be edited by the users, emailed and even be exported to other iPhone apps that support PDF format. When the documents are scanned, users can arrange them in accordance with their names, importance, keywords, type and details.
The app utilizes the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technique to pick text in 21 languages from all over the world.
Snap2PDF can be downloaded for $1.99 from the Apple iTunes store.
