SpaceWX: Monitor The Space Weather Around Earth [iPhone]

If you are interested in the weather surrounding the earth’s atmosphere, Space WX is a must have application for you. Designed by the Utah State University Space Weather Center, this handy application for the iPhone, iPod and iPad allows users to monitor the space weather around the Earth’s atmosphere. The applications obtains data from real time operational systems monitoring the four major environmental domains, the sun, solar winds, ionosphere and magnetosphere.

Users can view a detailed list of energy events which include the Advanced Composition Explorer solar wind calculations, SDO Atmospheric Imaging Assembly solar images as well as the real time ionospheric TEC. You can choose from 112 real time space weather images and data figures in order to get the most accurate results. You can also view the present Aurora Ovals nearby, as long as there are any aurorae available. The application allows you to save your favorite images in your gallery for later viewing. The application also supports mailing services so that you can email those pictures to your friends.
