Thin Scroll Bar Snapshot1 The Really Thin Scroll Bar Saves Screen Space [Chrome]

This classy looking scroll bar is just the thing to get if you have a small computer screen. The Thin Scroll bar can be installed to increase your screen space by that essential tad more. This Chrome Web Store application allows for better visibility on your tiny screen by reducing the size of the scroll bar while still retaining all the functionality.  It is just an extension software that replaces the browser’s current, and by default fat, scroll bar.

The default scroll bar functions such as mouse and keyboard scrolling remain unchanged. If you want to get rid of it at a later date, you can simply uninstall the extension from your default browser scroll bar. That will get back the original scroll bar of your Chrome browser.

So far the application has only been successfully tested on Chrome, Version 10.0. So that can be quite a downer for folks with other browsers such as Firefox, Mozilla or simple, old IE.

The other major drawback is that because the Thin Scroll Bar is so thin, you cannot use it with the mouse cursor. It’ll be like playing darts and hoping you hit the bull’s eye. You are forced to use the scrolling wheel on the mouse (otherwise called the middle mouse button), or the keyboard arrow keys.

But it still looks chic. And the best part is that it’s FREE! So if you’re using Chrome, give it a test run by installing it from here.
