Visual effect apps are always popular, be they for smart phones or computers. And yet, it always seems to come back to the wallpaper. TumblrWallpaper is built to help you decorate your Android with pictures which are either uploaded or found via Tumblr.
The overall experience as reported by most users seems to be less than thrilling though, despite all the hype. It does what it’s advertised to do, but it’s not a stitch more. A bit of personalization is nice, but it somewhat lacks ‘wow’ factor.
The first of its big shortcomings thatĀ smacks you right in the faceĀ is the language barrier. The app is natively in Japanese, and an English version would really be appreciated by users. However, most of the functionality is simple enough that you could work your way through it with a few button presses. However, looking online there appears to be a hint of a graver problem.
Several other comments on the App’s page on Appbrain said that the application either wouldn’t work for them or glitched out over a period of months. I’ve only had the app a short time, but I’ve yet to run into these problems.
Still, if you’re looking for a direct way to get your tumblr pictures as an Android wallpaper, this will work for you. And, of course, it’s free, so there’s no reason to say it’s not worth the money.
