Xtravo Explorer: Super Fast IE Based Browser
A 19 year old kid in Pakistan, Sheikh Imran, has come up with a new IE based browser that he claims is faster then most of the browsers out there. I agree. Within a few minutes of using it I could feel that its more light weight and faster then the regular IE, Firefox and Chrome browsers. 
The browser has all the regular features like Tab browsing, shortcuts, integrated RSS feeds e.t.c. but whats surprising is that it runs really fast even on minimum of resources. According to the information at download.com it only requires “NET Framework 2 or above. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or above. Minimum10mb Hard Drive & 128 Ram” which is pretty good for somebody with an old or low-resource machine.
One of the most important features though, that we have not seen elsewhere yet is the ability of the browser to capture all the images from a website with a single click. As you see in the screenshot below, you click on the webpage info and chose the option of “save all images”, specify a directory and within a few seconds all the images are copied to your hard drive. This is a very useful features that other browsers fail to offer.
One of the other talked-about features is a very powerful pop-up blocker. A number of users has termed the po-up blocker as being better than the mainstream browsers. In addition to this, it allows you to access the website directly through ftp by just using a ftp.yourdomain.com protocol to upload stuff to your website.

Its nothing new. Its based off of IE. The real work goes in creating a rendering engine, reading server response and creating a proficient algorithm to deal with content to make it more faster to download. Using IE and advertising it as such, simply falsifies claims of 10 seconds download, because if the IE engine is being used, then downloading speed depends on the IE engine, NOT xtravo web browser.
The FTP feature you mention is a feature of IE, not xtravo.
How is the popup blocker advanced than what you get with IE or FireFox? The xtravo popup blocker simply creates a list of sites, and if a site exists in the list, does not navigate to the particular site.
The web browser is a complete rip off from the .NET componenet for web browser. FYI, web browser component allows for creation of full fledged browsers based on IE engine. Two things point to this fact:
i) requirement of .NET Framework and IE 6.0 on system
ii) when you right click and check properties, you get IE properties pane
Further, if the browser is such a piece of work, then why the requirement of IE6? You need another browser for one browser to work? Sounds rather absurd.
Anyhow, blogs like yourself that cater to technical stuff should really be doing some objective analysis into such stuff. Trying to pass on stuff as such and touting about Pakistan zindabad just makes us Pakistanis look like a bunch of fools to the outsiders.
What the hell is all this celebration about. Xtravo is just a skin for IE. not a new browser. Why are all IT pundits claiming it to be new? Does that mean even our IT people lack knowledge and skill in this field?
Aamir seem to be jealous like other Computer geeks and programmers in Pakistan.
I am glad this Xtravo has made a huge market worldwide.
