Xtravo is being evaluated by Apple and Microsoft for buy out.

The FTP feature you mention is a feature of IE, not xtravo.

How is the popup blocker advanced than what you get with IE or FireFox? The xtravo popup blocker simply creates a list of sites, and if a site exists in the list, does not navigate to the particular site.

The web browser is a complete rip off from the .NET componenet for web browser. FYI, web browser component allows for creation of full fledged browsers based on IE engine. Two things point to this fact:

i) requirement of .NET Framework and IE 6.0 on system

ii) when you right click and check properties, you get IE properties pane

Further, if the browser is such a piece of work, then why the requirement of IE6? You need another browser for one browser to work? Sounds rather absurd.

Anyhow, blogs like yourself that cater to technical stuff should really be doing some objective analysis into such stuff. Trying to pass on stuff as such and touting about Pakistan zindabad just makes us Pakistanis look like a bunch of fools to the outsiders.

What the hell is all this celebration about. Xtravo is just a skin for IE. not a new browser. Why are all IT pundits claiming it to be new? Does that mean even our IT people lack knowledge and skill in this field?

Its nothing new. Its based off of IE. The real work goes in creating a rendering engine, reading server response and creating a proficient algorithm to deal with content to make it more faster to download. Using IE and advertising it as such, simply falsifies claims of 10 seconds download, because if the IE engine is being used, then downloading speed depends on the IE engine, NOT xtravo web browser.
